What is YourSchool
YourSchool is a bi-monthly newsletter you send to your customers. But you don't write it, you don't print it, you don't fold it, you don't label it or pretty much do anything to it but mail it. We do it all for you.
We started doing our other newsletter, YourBook in our own yearbook territory in 1984. Other reps saw it and asked if they could use it in their own territories but with their name on it. We said sure and here we are 24 years later with more than 175 Jostens yearbook reps sending it to their schools each month.
Three years ago, at the urging of Val Williams, Tim Larsen and others, we started YourSchool, a marketing tool for those on the scholastic side of the business. It has been a huge success with Scholastic reps from all over the USA signing up in our first three years.
This newsletter is ideal for the busy rep who wants to keep his face and name in front of his customers and prospects on a consistent basis all year long but does not have the time or the expertise to create one.
What YourSchool isn't
YourSchool isn't a brochure. A brochure is a one-time sales piece. You drop it off once to a customer or prospect and it sells one specific thing. It does nothing to improve your overall image with your customers and prospects. They see it as you trying to sell them something.
YourSchool is a newsletter. You mail it out consistently and it sells you. Your customers and prospects see it as you sharing ideas and advice to them and their school. They see you as the caring expert in their schools.
You send it to your customers to let them know that you are knowledgeable in all areas of leadership, management, education as well as your products and services.
You send it out to your prospects to let them know that you are out there assisting your customers to become the best administrators that they can be and that you want to do the same for them. Even if they have made the unwise decision to not be your customer at this time. You let them know that you are still out there and would be the ideal person for them to bring onboard as a valuable member of their team.
