Here are the links to the pages that have our photos, movies and reviews of our latest and past travels. Right now I have a lot more to add but I want to put the new site online.
Just click the links below to access them. We hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we did taking them. OK, that’s a stretch but enjoy yourself anyway.
What a way to start a new year. A 21-day trip Down Under. A flight through Hong Kong from Seattle to Auckland, NZ then we boarded Celebrity’s Century and sailed down the coast of New Zealand, through the fjords and across the Tasman Sea to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. Just click the links at the top of every page to follow us on our journey.
Our friends Bob and Judy had decided to go to Alaska on Celebrity’s Century and we decided to go along as well. This was our fourth time sailing to Alaska and after a long, stressful summer of work for both of us, we looked at the cruise as just a wonderful getaway where we could relax, be treated special (which we were) and have fun.
In February 2010 we embarked on a very long flight followed by a short stay, a two week cruise and another short stay in a part of the world we not only had never been to but never thought we would travel to in our lives—Southeast Asia.
Read along as we tell the story and review all the parts of our journey from our flights on Cathay Pacific Airlines to our 14 day cruise on the Azamara Quest to our pre-cruise stay in Singapore and our post-cruise stay in Hong Kong.
In March of 2009 we embarked on a two week and two day journey to Florida and a cruise of the Caribbean on Celebrity Cruise Line’s Solstice. We traveled with four of the most fun people in the world, Bob, Judy, Mike and Carol as well as quite a few other members of a very active Cruise Critic group. As our good friends know, we try and get out of the US for all the major holidays. And since we can’t bug Bob and Judy every time we try to get off on our own on the 4th each year. In 2010 with a plethora of Alaska Airline miles we decided to spend a few of them and head to someplace we had never seen---Calgary. Which would also include Banff and Lake Louise.
This was one of those cruises that you take just for fun. It was four days out of Seattle with stops in Nanaimo and Victoria, British Columbia as well as a day at sea. We had been to Nanaimo and Victoria on numerous occasions and folks, there just aren't that many reasons to go back for us. But this cruise was all about friends and cruising and a bargain. When you can get a suite on a Celebrity ship for less than $600 each for four days, you go. Going with Bob and Judy (two of our bestest Martini Mates) we knew we would have a bunch of fun so we booked it.
After a very long summer of hard work and stress we needed a break. And the best thing we could think of was a break on our favorite ship (Infinity) with our favorite people (Bob and Judy) sailing to “we don’t care where.” So Alaska will do just fine. For the third time... (Click the graphic at right to see the site.)
This was one of those times when we actually enjoyed the pre-cruise as much as the cruise itself. We spent four wonderful days in Barcelona before boarding Century for a trip around the Western Mediterranean. With stops in France, Italy, Gibraltar and Spain we had the best of times. After almost exactly 2 years, a good-sized contingent of the original Infinity Martini Mates were joined by a number of new members on a seven day cruise to Alaska aboard...what else...the Infinity.
Journey on with us as we follow the Martini Mates and their new Infinity Mates around the wilds of Alaska.
A truly amazing trip on the MV Galaxy that started in Rome and included stops in Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini, Greece. Then on to Istanbul, Turkey and into the Black Sea stopping at Constanta, Romania, Odessa in the Ukraine before returing for stops in Athens, Greece, Kusadasi, Turkey and Naples, Italy.
