A Tale of Two Cities

It was the best of Autumn, it was the worst of Autumn. We visited two of North America’s best cities in October 2013–Toronto and Chicago. Cities we had no idea what to expect and loved them both.

From cocktails in Tim and Perry’s backyard on the first night in Toronto to the pouring rain of our second day there to the cold wind that blew on the Architectural Tour as we sailed the Chicago River and the wonderful appetizers at my brother John’s place followed by a great Greek dinner in his neighborhood, it was a GREAT time.

We loved Toronto much more than we ever expected. Of course 90% of that was due to our incredible hosts Tim and Perry who put aside their lives for three days to show us their city. And even though it rained (POURED) for most of our city tour, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. And we had a BEAUTIFUL day at Niagara Falls to prove that the weather can be amazing.

Then it was on to Chicago where we had a great time on what became a daytime art and architecture tour and a nighttime food and restaurant extravaganza with my brother John. He was a great host and we enjoyed having him show us his newly-adopted home.
