About the Author—Laura Moore

After graduating with honors from Huntington North High School in 1998 where she worked on the high school newspaper and yearbook staff Laura was accepted into the Ball State University School of Journalism.

She graduated Cum Laude from Ball State University May 2002 with a double major in Journalism Education and Photojournalism and minors in English Education and Spanish.

In the eight years since graduation from Ball State she has been teaching English as well as advising the yearbook and the newspaper at a large Indiana high school.

Laura was honored as the VFW Teacher of the Year in 2007 and is a member of the Indiana High School Press Association, Journalism Education Association and the Quill and Scroll Society.
Her students have won more than 80 regional awards, 10 state awards and 15 national awards for journalism since she started teaching in 2002. Her yearbooks have been featured in the Jostens Look Book and she teaches at numerous workshops around the region and state in both fall and summer.

For the last 12 years Laura has also owned and operated Memories by Laura, a wedding and portrait photography studio shooting numerous weddings and senior portraits.

Laura is married to Christopher (also a teacher) and they have two beautiful children, Annabelle and Noah and she is expecting her third child as this book goes to press.
