YBAG 2It's a comprehensive guide book for the new and old adviser alike.
It starts with a 70-page notebook that includes the following:

How-to's on every important task in teaching and managing yearbook for schools using YearTech Online. (A companion piece for YearTech for InDesign schools is in the works.)

Detailed plans for completing four yearbook sales campaigns that match up with Jostens new URGENCY program.

(Registration, Fall, Winter, Spring and Distribution)

Detailed plans for completing business and/or personal ad sales campaigns.

And best of all, the Yearbook Adviser Guide includes password-protected access to hundreds of online lessons that are directly referenced in the printed guide.

What is the Yearbook Advisers Guide for Experienced Advisers

Even though I truly believe that every adviser should have access to the complete Yearbook Adviser's Guide, Dana and Megan have prevailed upon me to offer a smaller version for those reps who want to give just the monthly and sales tabs to their experienced advisers. This smaller version would give each of those advisers access to the website as well. So you can now order just those tabs in a notebook with cover page for a reduced price.

In the spring of 2010, two Colorado yearbook reps (Dana Weiss and Megan Philipp) decided they had a need for a comprehensive guide that would not only get their new yearbook advisers through the entire school year (and not just the first 20 days) but also a printed piece to give some of their older advisers who could still use some guidance as well. They wanted something simple, easy-to-understand, that every new adviser could "get!"

So they contacted 10 other reps and asked them if they would contribute monetarily to create a brand new Yearbook Advisers Guide. They then took that monetary investment and hired some of their best advisers who created some outstanding curriculum materials. They put the materials the advisers had created together with task lists, how-to's and other curriculum that they and Dana's associate Loren Fry came up with and this project was born.

A year later they approached me for a way to bring it to all of you so that you could use it without the amount of hands-on work they and the original 10 reps had to do themselves to create the notebooks and get them into the hands of their advisers in both a timely and affordable manner.

After months of work we are thrilled to say that this amazing and comprehensive guide is now available to you. Of course we here at Koobraey did our usual part in this...we helped redesign the guide adding personalization that puts your contact info at your adviser's fingertips, your photo and address on almost every page.

The Guide is printed on 12 laminated divider tabs with more than 60 black and white sheets between those dividers detailing how to create everything from a YTO widget to a yearbook staff contract. All this comes to you inside a white, 3-ring binder with a full-color cover featuring you and your contact info.
